I've got a Gateway notebook MX8711 running Windows Vista Home Premium. The
touch pad scroll bar seems to be overly sensitive, resulting in the cursor
bouncing all over the screen. It makes typing a challenge.

Does anyone know how to adjust the sensitivity of the touch pad or disable
the scroll bar on it? I tried to find a solution through Control Panel, but
no joy. Same deal contacting Gateway support. I was unable to find
anything on this under Vista support at the Microsoft support site.

Please post replies here. Thanks!

Never mind, I figured it out. It is something about the way the touchpad
scroll function sensitivity is designed and set up. Disabling the touch pad
scroll function fixed the problem.

I'm having the same trouble with my touch pad. I've disabled the touch pad
one time, but can't remember how I did it. I've searched unsuccessfully
through the control panel and don't know where else to look. Can you help?

Does somebody know how to disable the touch pad on a Dell laptop? I'm having
the jumping cursor problem, which makes typing almost impossible. You're
supposed to use th FN key, but with which other key? I'm assuming that'll
solve the problem. Thanks in advance.
