Good idea John.
However, I think I found a genuine way araound, but you need Windows Office
2007 installed for it to work.
Step 1 - Write you mail as normal in Outlook Express
Step 2 - Copy the whole text
Step 3 - Open up Word in Office 2007
Step 4 - Paste text into new documnet in WORD
Step 5 - Use the Spell Check in WORD to check the spelling in the message,
providing you have set the dictionary to ENGLISH (UK) within WORD
Step 6 - Copy text from WORD document
Step 7 - Paste back into the Outllok Express message that you want to send
Step 8 - Check in the "Tools" in OUTLOOK EXPRESS, and choose OPTIONs. Then
select the the SPELLLING tab, and low and behold the dictonary has changed
from FRENCH to ENGLISH (UK); and it remains after closing and re-opening the
package and XP itself.
Hope this makes sense and helps anyone.
Post by JohnI cheated - tossed out my XP machine and bought a mac. Problem went right away.
Post by Micky FinTrouble with this solution, it assumed that you installed XP after you bpught
you machine, im ,y case the machine was supplied with XP pre-installed,
therefore I do not have the original installation discs?.
Any Ideas
Post by RadiosFixed my dictionary. Here's how I did it. I used my Office XP install disc
and ran it as if to reinstall the older Office then "X'd" everything except
"Office Shared Features" / "Proofing Tools" / "English". (I tested my
dictionary by typing this as a e-mail message then copy/pasted)
Setup.exe
Add or Remove features (or) Custom Install
Check "Not Available" on everything except "Office Shared Features"
Under Shared Features check Not Available on everything except "Proofing
Tools"
Under Proofing Tools check French and Spanish as Not Available. Then check
English as "Run All From My Computer"
Continue with the rest of the Install / Repair
Post by RadiosOK: I'll get this posting stuff. For what it's worth, my dictionary changed
to French after installing Office Enterprise 2007. I'm just starting to
repair my dictionary today.
Post by MocsabThe dictionary in my OUTLOOK EXPRESS is FRENCH and I cannot find a way to
install or change it to ENGLISH. (I also don't know why there is French
Dictionary installed in the first place - it is not something I did)
How and where can I download and install an ENGLISH DICTIONARY for OUTLOOK
EXPRESS? I have tried re-installing IE 7 - but it has not changed the
Dictionary - I appreciate any help anyone can offer -
